Kaspersky says prepares secure smartphone prototype
MOSCOW, Jun 22 (PRIME) -- A prototype of Russian antivirus maker Kaspersky’s hack-proof smartphone is already equipped with basic applications, while Wi-Fi support, NFC, and other features will be added, Viktor Ivanovsky, head of the group developing the KasperskyOS business, told PRIME on Thursday.
“The list of scenarios necessary for a smartphone’s operation contains calls, an address book, SMS, a setting panel. Wi-Fi, NFC, and cameras come next. These components are mainly necessary for industrial scenarios,” Ivanovsky said.
The company also works on support of a browser based on Chromium, a web browser with open source code, “in order not to load the developers with a new browser platform,” he added.
Kaspersky deals only with the operating system for the professional mobile device, and the company is working with potential partners to bring such devices to the market. “Both Russian and Asian companies can act as such,” Ivanovsky said.
